Full Time Accountant and GL Specialist

Princeton Federal Credit Union is seeking Full-Time, Accountant & GL Specialist with banking/credit union experience within the accounting field.
This role supports the Credit Union’s accounting and financial operations by ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and daily financial controls. Responsibilities include monitoring bank account liquidity and investment activity, posting month‑end and closing journal entries, preparing financial statements, and reconciling general ledger accounts, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and both internal and externally serviced loan accounts.
The position collaborates closely with accounting leadership and related teams to prepare quarterly NCUA 5300 reports, assist with the annual budget, manage backup withholding taxes, and oversee escheatment processes. In addition, the role supports compliance requirements, assists with wire approvals and branch balancing issues, and maintains strong working knowledge of accounting systems and regulatory obligations.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred or equivalent accounting-related work experience is required. Strong Excel spreadsheet experience required.

The compensation range for this role is expected to be $25.00 - $36.00 per hour, subject to experience and to the qualifications of the candidate.

Your responsibilities will span core HR functions such as benefits administration, employee relations, recruiting and hiring strategy, performance management, payroll and HR technology support. One of your first major initiatives will involve finalizing the transition from our current money purchase plan to a new 401(k) plan with expanded features. You’ll work closely with knowledgeable external partners, so the ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with third-party vendors is essential.
